Family of mother killed in Queens drive-by says mistaken identity to blame – NYPOST.com – ”The shattered family of a young mom slain in a Queens drive-by car shooting on Mother’s Day believes she was the victim of mistaken identity. Stephanie Taveras, 21, was killed when another car pulled alongside the BMW she was traveling in on the Grand Central Parkway and riddled her passenger side with at least 10 bullets. “It’s like a puzzle,” her cousin Evelyn Taveras, 32, said today. “Everybody’s hurt. Everybody wants to know what happened. There’s no answers.””

Police Officer Implicated in Drug Ring Investigation – NYTimes.com – ”A wiretap by the federal Drug Enforcement Administration to obtain evidence against a heroin trafficking ring uncovered a surprising suspect, officials said: a New York City police officer. A heroin dealer, Guy Curtis, asked the officer on one occasion how to get “gunshot residue off your hands,” according to the authorities. Bronx school bus driver Jose Peralta charged with downloading and sharing child pornography – NY Daily News – ”A SCHOOL BUS driver was busted Monday at his Bronx home on charges of downloading and sharing child pornography on a computer in his bedroom, officials said. Jose Peralta, 36, of University Ave. in Kingsbridge Heights, was held on $50,000 bail. He was charged with 25 counts each of possessing a sexual performance by a child and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, authorities said. He was also hit with five counts each of promoting a sexual performance by a child and promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child.”
