The newly-renovated Bayside Diner is much improved: nice tables, comfortable seating and solid food options.

Some menu highlights:

One of the best items made to order is the classic Bleu Cheeseburger Deluxe with Bacon.

The burger was on point: juicy, cooked perfectly to medium rare, moist buns and accompanied with a liberal amount of Bleu cheese, sautéed onions and mushrooms.

While the food was great, the burger total came to around 15 bucks without tax or tip. I’d pay that much if I was at Bareburger where all the ingredients are organic, but for a local diner it was a bit pricier than I would have liked.

The jist? Nice, friendly wait staff and a fresh look to a diner that now has both great atmosphere and great burgers — just not at the right price.
